I’m Dawn. I am a mother to two amazing kids from Ethiopia, a perpetual student (soon to be done and have the lovely letters PhD following my name), a wife, a friend, a daughter, and a sister. I am also an over-achiever who has a need to be involved in everything. I teach, I student, I supervise student teachers, and I stay active in my kids lives. I want it all. Being a student is hard, but I manage and I love it. Please don’t tell those student loan people, but my plan is to never stop going to school so I don’t have to pay them back. I am married to an amazing man–who made me even consider marriage for the first time in my life. He is a born and breed California boy now residing in the midwest and he loves it. He is an amazing man–intelligent, funny, caring, honest and well he loves me and that makes him tops in my book.
My kids are now 5 and 3.5 and they are perfecting their ability to drive me crazy–there is a reason I teach college and not elementary school.
I am so many other things, but what has led me to this new site and this new persona is that I have finally embraced this little and quite well known fact–I am imperfect. I have finally come to grips with that last little piece.
This is my website. This is my life.
