I’m Dawn. I am a mother to an amazing little boy from Ethiopia. We brought him home at 4 1/2 month old and he is now 18 months and is pure boy. He is my dream. We were meant to be parents and I could not have asked for a more perfect child than our little Minnow (this is his web alias). He is going to be a big brother soon, as we are in the process of adopting a baby girl. I will write often about adoption and motherhood.
I am a graduate student. I am a licensed high school teacher and am currently a stay-at-home mom. I do teach one class at a local community college and vow to never teach high school again–I know never say never. I am working towards my MA in English and will be done May 2008. I am also currently applying to a doctoral progam–because I just like school that much. Being a student is hard, but I manage and I love it. Please don’t tell those student loan people, but my plan is to never stop going to school so I don’t have to pay them back.
I am married to an amazing man–who made me even consider marriage for the first time in my life. He is a born and breed California boy now residing in the midwest and he loves it. He is an amazing man–intelligent, funny, caring, honest and well he loves me and that makes him tops in my book.
I am so many other things, but what has led me to this new site and this new persona is that I have finally embraced this little and quite well known fact–I am imperfect. I have finally come to grips with that last little piece.
This is my website. This is my life.
